5 Reasons to Have a Wedding in New Hampshire

We are the Live Free or Die state, and yes, we that that motto seriously! Not just because our liquor stores are off the highways and are the size of a shopping mall, but moreover because we know how to have fun! From the great people of this state to our land and legislation, New Hampshire is hands down the best state to have a wedding in!

1. No Sales Tax

One of the best ways to save tons of money on your wedding, no sales tax! That means buying your favors, table cloths, flowers, dress, tuxes, even your rings come without tax! That means that the average wedding costing $14,812, without including the venue and food, would save you over $1,200 in taxes!

Now, are you wondering why we didn’t include the venue and food? That’s because while New Hampshire does not have a sales tax, we do have a Meals and Room tax that would be included in that price.

2. NH Products

New Hampshire has an incredible selection of locally made products for wedding ranging from jewelry, dresses, wedding favors, and lots more! There are even two organizations, NH Made and League of NH Craftsmen, whose sole purpose is to help promote all NH based products.

3. Lakes & Mountains

If you even spend just a few hours here in New Hampshire, I’m sure you’d agree, it’s gorgeous! From our mountain ranges to our lakes, you will have the perfect backdrop for all of your photos! We even have several venues (including us, Pats Peak Banquet Center!) that are positioned on a mountain and offer summit weddings.

4. Covered Bridges

We just can’t say enough about the beauty in this state, our covered bridges are like none other! They show case the history this state has been through, being one of the 13 colonies we are swimming in American history and culture. Our hometown, Henniker, NH, even has a gorgeous covered bridge in our downtown area that is available to visitors to take photos on!

5. Amazing Towns & People

Now, we may be a bit biased, but we believe New Hampshire has the best people, and those people have created some of the most gorgeous towns! But don’t just take it from us, esteemed blogger, Chris Boothman the co-founder of A Brit and A Southerner documented his trip to New Hampshire and told his followers:

The New Hampshire folks are some of the friendliest we have encountered while exploring the States.
